Journalist Krishna Vattam Passed Away in Mysuru

Veteran journalist Krishna Vattam (82) passed away at a private hospital after a brief illness.

MYSURU: Veteran journalist Krishna Vattam (82) passed away at a private hospital here on Wednesday after a brief illness.

Vattam, who had served as a journalist in English and Kannada newspapers for more than six decades, was hospitalised on Friday.

He breathed his last after a cardiac arrest around 8.30 am. He is survived by his wife Kamala, a son and two daughters. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah , who visited Vattam’s Vidyaranyapuram residence, called him the Bhishma of journalism.
