Two Held With Elephant Tusk in Bengaluru

Two people were arrested by the Varthur police while they were trying to sell an elephant tusk.

BENGALURU:  Two people were arrested by the Varthur police on Wednesday while they were trying to sell an elephant tusk. The arrested have been identified as Prashanth (22) and Muninanjappa (28), both natives of Kanakapura. According to police, the duo was moving in a suspicious manner on Sarjapur Main Road. When the police stopped and quizzed the duo, they found an elephant tusk weighing about 10 kg with them. During interrogation, the accused said that they had killed an elephant in Jawalgere forest range in Tamil Nadu. As they could not find a customer for the tusk, they had kept it in their house for a few days.  Varthur police had recently arrested two people from Sarjapur Main Road while they were trying to sell a tusk.
