Was Kalaburagi Man on Recce?

Do all the evidence found in the possession of 21-year-old Mohammad Hussianali Qureshi, who was arrested on Wednesday at Sambra airport, point to plots of a terror attack?

BELAGAVI: Do all the evidence found in the possession of 21-year-old Mohammad Hussianali Qureshi, who was arrested on Wednesday at Sambra airport, point to plots of a terror attack?

The answer is still not clear, but it has the police of Belagavi and Kalaburagi on high alert. The accused is suspected to have links with the Islamic State. Police on Thursday, took Qureshi, a newspaper distributor, to his hometown Kalaburagi for investigation.

According to police sources, Qureshi revealed that he is working on the instructions of unknown persons. Police have recovered more than 36 photographs taken from around the state by him. 

He said he commenced his work of clicking photographs from Bengaluru. He has taken photographs of Vidhana Soudha, Lalbagh, Tipu’s palace, Utility Building, BMTC bus stand in Shantinagar and more.  He took photographs of Hubballi railway station and airport. Police have also recovered photographs of railway timetables and tracks.

Qureshi also took photographs of different locations at Gadag and Bagalkot. In Belagavi, he took photos of the railway station, a masjid near Market police station and Mujawar Complex. He was caught finally while taking pictures of Sambra airport. He was paid `5,000 for each approved photograph, Qureshi claimed.
