MYSURU: A gang of 10 unidentified miscreants looted Rs 20 lakh from a Kerala-based businessman on Mysuru-Hunsur Road, near Bilikere, on Tuesday midnight.

According to SP Abhinav Khare, the miscreants, who came in an Innova and Maruthi Swift, attacked Abdul Majid and the car driver, and escaped with Rs 20 lakh.

Majid, an automobile dealer, was returning to Kozhikode from Bengaluru with the cash as he did not get the car parts he wanted buy.

In what appeared to be a well-planned and meticulously executed robbery, the miscreants used a lorry to block the car near Bharat Petrol Bunk, and looted the money and two mobile phones from Majid.

However, it was not clear how the miscreants come to know that Majid was carrying the cash.

The police suspect that people known to Majid may have helped the miscreants.
