New Crop Insurance Policy in Offing: BSY

KALABURAGI: The Union government has proposed to announce a new crop insurance policy and issue passbook to all farmers in its next budget, BJP national vice-president B S Yeddyurappa said here on Saturday.

“Farmers do not get the insurance amount when they are in need. Considering this, the Narendra Modi government at the Centre has decided to introduce new crop insurance policy in its next budget. Apart from this, the government has proposed to issue passbooks containing details about their land, loan received and other details to all the farmers so that they can get the benefits of several schemes,” the former chief minister said.

The Shivamogga MP also said that the recent Cabinet decision to increase the funds allocated  to the Hyderabad Karnataka Regional Development Board (HKRDB) from Rs.600 crore to Rs.1,000 crore was nothing but a joke.
