Forum Takes Out March to Mutt

HUBBALLI: Members of the  Moorusavir Mutt Hitarakshana Samiti will take a delegation to Hangal to persuade Gurusidda Rajyogindra Swamiji to return to Moorusavir Mutt, said samiti member Shivanand Muttannavar.

After a silent march from Yeredettina Mutt to Moorusavir Mutt on Sunday, he said if the seer did not return by February 1, the delegation will go to meet him.

Lashing out at former MLC Mohan Limbikai, Muttanavar said he has no authority to say who should be made successor as it is the discretion of the seer to decide his Uttaradhikari. He accused Limbikai of creating confusion among the devotees. The devotees will abide by the seer’s decision, he added.

He alleged that some Lingayat leaders were trying to give an impression that the mutt belongs only to their community. “We have been devotees of the mutt for 50 years. Let the swamiji decide who should visit the mutt. If he restricts us, we will not enter the premises,” said Muttannavar.

Muttannavar also said that some people are trying to involve seers of other mutts. “Gurusidda Rajyogindra Swamiji has the capacity of taking decisions. Our only intention is to bring him back,” he said. All religious programmes have been stopped at the mutt.
