Man Held for 'Kissing' Student

MYSURU: Relatives of a 15-year-old girl student thrashed a physical education teacher on Tuesday for allegedly kissing her at a school in the city. Police have arrested the teacher.

The girl is studying in Class 9 and her father is a cab driver. The accused S Surendra allegedly grabbed her hand and kissed her on the cheeks when she went to bring a piece of chalk from the staff room on Monday.

The girl reported this incident to a female teacher who took her to the headmaster. The girl revealed the matter to her mother after she returned home.

As news spread, locals and the kin of the girl barged into the school on Tuesday and thrashed the teacher.

In a complaint to NR Mohalla police station, the girl’s mother alleged that Surendra had “sexually assaulted and misbehaved” with her daughter after the science class.

Teacher Booked

KGF: A criminal case has been booked against a Hindi teacher for allegedly hitting a student on the head with a clipboard causing injuries,  at Oorgaumpet Government Primary and High School on Tuesday.

Vivek (15), a Class 10 student, was shifted to the Government Hospital where he received four sutures, a source said.

Robertsonpet Police registered a case against the teacher Jayaram.
