Police Clarify on Freak Gun Incident

BENGALURU:  City Police Commissioner M N Reddi said on Wednesday that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had moved out from the Hamid Shah Complex when the magazine of a police constable’s pistol fell down in a melee on Tuesday.

Reacting to a report titled ‘Another Scare for CM in Freak Gun Incident’, published in Express on Wednesday, Reddi said, “A magazine from the pistol of a police constable who was part of the Home Minister’s escort party fell down at the rear of the chief minister’s escort car. It was not the CM’s PSO (Personal Security Officer) or his escort party pistol that fell down as reported.”

“Nothing untoward happened at the place. The chief minister’s convoy had moved out of the place safely and smoothly,” he said.
