Congress Targets BJP Over Land Denotification

BENGALURU: Senior Congress leader H M Revanna has urged the state government to order a probe into the alleged illegal denotification of over 610 acres of Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) land by the previous BJP government in the state.

“BJP is raising the issue of land denotification by the Congress government only to cover up their land scams,” Revanna told reporters here on Friday.

He said the CAG report tabled in the Assembly in 2013 had exposed the misdeeds of the BJP government in denotifying 610 acres of land illegally. “We would appeal to the state government to order a probe,” he added.

MLC Ugrappa rubbished allegations made by BJP that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had illegally denotified land in Arkavathy Layout.

“It was done as per the guidelines and directions of the Supreme Court,” he said. The press conference was also attended by Congress legislators Ashok Pattan, M T B Nagaraj and others.
