20 Injured in Gas Cylinder Blast

TUMAKURU:  As many as 20 people, including seven children, sustained burns after a gas cylinder exploded in an autorickshaw at Indiranagara in Huliyaru town of Chikkanayakanahalli taluk on Thursday.

AUTO.jpgThe driver, who was also injured, had parked the autorickshaw outside his rented house. The children, who sustained burns, were studying in an anganwadi centre near the house.

The injured were shifted to the hospitals in CN Halli and the District Hospital. Sources said all the victims are out of danger.

Fire tenders from CN Halli rushed to the spot and doused the fire. Officials from the Revenue Department visited the spot. Deputy Commissioner K S Sathyamurthy visited the injured at the District General Hospital. A case has been registered against the autorickshaw driver.
