BENGALURU: Unidentified miscreants ransacked a residence of a land developer at Syndicate Bank Colony near Byadarahalli on Magadi Road on Sunday and escaped with valuables worth `70 lakh.

Police said the incident took place around evening and the complainant, Aradhya, and his family had gone to his Nelamangala farm house. In his complaint, Aradhya stated that around afternoon, he left the house along with his wife and four children and returned at around 10.30 pm.

They saw that the bedroom and locker were ransacked and diamond and gold jewels were missing. The accused had gained entry into the residence through a back door after climbing the compound wall, said police. “We suspect that known people are behind the incident and they studied the movements of family. But Aradhya is not revealing the exact details of the valuables and his statement is also not clear. We are verifying footage of CCTVs installed in the area and Tavarekere police are investigating in this connection,” police added.
