Rare Sight: A Positive Picture at Kalaburagi Hospital

KALABURAGI:Though the Kalaburagi District Government Hospital faces shortage of doctors and specialists, there is no major problem because of the experts working at ESI Medical College and Gulbarga Institute of Medical College.

District surgeon Dr. Nalini Namoshi told Express that the sanctioned doctors’ posts for the District Government Hospital are 94 and 46. She said apart from the doctors serving in the District Government Hospital, 110 doctors/ specialists of ESIC Medical College and 56 doctors/specialists of Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences were offering service to the District Government Hospital as both the medical colleges have been attached to the hospital.

The major problem of the hospital is the severe shortage of group ‘D’ employees. The hospital is not facing any shortage of equipment. Four ventilators have been given to ICU and they are in good condition. Of the two ventilators given to the pediatrics department, one is in good condition and another is under repair.
