Davangere Farmer's son aces medical entrance

Sai Prasad Kottapalli of Sir MV PU College, Davangere has secured seventh rank in medical and dental streams.

BENGALURU: Sai Prasad Kottapalli of Sir MV PU College, Davangere, who has secured seventh rank in medical and dental streams and 61st in engineering in the Common Entrance Test (CET) is very happy as he is the second one in his family to study medicine.

His parents are small farmers in Sindhanur taluk of Raichur district and have worked hard to educate their two children. Sai Prasad completed his PUC while staying in a hostel. Until SSLC, he studied in Koppal district, away from his parents.

He was inspired by his older sister who is also studying medicine. “She is the one who taught me to study and helped me through tough times,” he said.

Sai Prasad is planning to pursue medicine either at Bangalore Medical College or at Mysore Medical College. He aspires to become a surgeon. His sister Nagaspandana is currently in her second year of medicine and is very proud of her brother.

Sai Prasad used to visit his parents every month during first PU and stopped after the Dasara holidays in the second year in order to concentrate on studies.
