Court blast: Lawyers fume at security lapse on the premises

MYSURU:  The blast outside the Mysuru court complex sent shockwaves in the vicinity. Lakshmi, a fruit vendor near the court, said a loud noise kept ringing in her ears for a long time.

Charles Govias, of Ramakrishnanagar who had come to the court said , “When I rushed to the spot, I saw smoke billowing from the damaged toilet and it smelt like firecrackers”. He counted himself lucky as he had used the toilet thrice since morning.  Police who arrived at the spot at 4.20 pm, cordoned off the area to make way for the dog squad and finger print experts to do their job.

Advocates expressed their anger over lack of security arrangements in place in the court premises to pre-empt such incidents. B Shivanna, an advocate, said neither is there checking at gates nor CCTV cameras in the premises.
