UG, PG results together: Common calendar for all Karnataka state universities

BENGALURU: From the current academic year, all state universities have to declare results of both undergraduate and post-graduate courses on the same date. The Department of Higher Education has released a common calendar for the universities.

A Government Order issued on Friday directs all universities to declare results of undergraduate courses on or before May 31 and post-graduate courses on or before June 30. If any university fails to stick to the calendar, action will be initiated against the officials concerned.

The department had issued this order and framed a common calendar for all the universities in view of the inconvenience caused to students while taking up further studies or applying for jobs.

Higher Education minister Basavaraj Rayareddi said, “There are over 20 universities in the state, but the conduct of examination and declaration of results are not uniform. This is inconveniencing those who want to apply for jobs and who wish to pursue higher education. Considering this, we issued a Government Order directing all universities to follow a single calendar.” All universities must re-open colleges and commence admission for  first semester on the assigned date. Even the commencement of classes for all  semesters should be as per the calendar.
