TUMAKURU/HASSAN: Hassan Superintendent of Police Rahul Kumar Shahapurwad had a close shave when his official car met with an accident on Bengaluru-Mangaluru national highway near Kunigal on Friday.
The SP’s gunman Nagendra and driver Shivakumar suffered injuries and are admitted to the Adhichunchanagiri Medical College Hospital at Bellur Cross. The SP escaped unhurt as he was sitting in the middle row of the Toyota Innova. The SP was on his way to Bengaluru on an official work when the incident occurred.
His car hit a Canter goods vehicle which was crossing the highway at Hemavathy Circle. As it was raining, visiblity was low, police said and added that the Canter driver was taking a turn on the highway.
Three persons who were in the Canter too sustained injuries.
Amrituru police have booked the driver of the goods vehicle for negligent driving.
