KSE cancels SRB meet, heads to Delhi

BENGALURU: Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Council K S Eshwarappa cancelled his scheduled meeting with leaders of Sangolli Rayanna Brigade (SRB) on Monday evening and rushed to Delhi to take part in BJP’s core committee meeting to be chaired by party national president Amit Shah on Tuesday.

Eshwarappa, who was to discuss his plans to hold HINDA (Kannada acronym for backwards and dalits) with SRB leaders despite BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa’s strong opposition, is said to have cancelled the meet following instructions from the RSS leadership.

“I am heading to Delhi to participate in the BJP core committee meeting. I will meet the SRB leaders on my return,” he said.

Shah is likely to discuss the rift in state BJP caused by the proposed HINDA rallies by Eshwarappa with the state leaders during Tuesday’s meeting in Delhi.
