3 teams formed to probe driver’s suicide 

Cops seek government’s permission to prosecute Nayak

MYSURU: Mandya police have formed three teams under Malavalli DySP Mathew Thomas, circle-inspector K R Prasad to expedite the probe into Ramesh's suicide and have also written to higher-ups to prosecute Bheema Naik.


The teams have left for Bengaluru, Ballari, Maddur and Kadakothanahalli village to gather information on Bheema Nayak and his driver Mohammad for allegedly harassing Ramesh.

They are also looking into assets of Bheema Nayak and alleged money laundering of `100 crore. Sources said Bheema Nayak had given `1 crore to Ramesh to get it deposited in his relatives and friends' accounts. Though, he got it done the differences cropped in when Ramesh failed to give account for `8 lakh.
The cops who have collected driving license and ATM card from Ramesh room are also looking into his bank transactions, phone call details  as he had alleged that a few goonda elements and Nayak were threatening him over the phone.


Mandya SP Sudheerkumar Reddy said he has directed the DySP to submit a report within two days.
‘How can Ramesh turn bad within no time’


“When Bheema Nayak had told that my son (Ramesh) was good and loyal to him for all these years, how can he turn bad  overnight,” asked Ramesh’s mother Sakamma.


She said Nayak had visited their house in March and lauded Ramesh's honesty and dedication in work. “But, from couple of days my son was saying his boss has changed a lot and was creating trouble for him,” she said. Sakamma said she never knew that Ramesh would commit suicide.


Accusing Nayak for their son’s death, father Chikkahomabale Gowda and Sakamma alleged that the officials took away the life of their son who was sole the bread winner. 
Villagers demand 


CBI probe
Pro-Kannada activists and other progressive forums on Thursday demanded CBI probe into the suicide of Ramesh, driver of land Acquisition officer Bheema Naik. Kadakothanahalli villagers threatened to lay seige the Deputy Commissioner’s office if the government fails to meet their demand.
They feel that only a CBI probe can throw light on the role of Bheema Nayak, Mohammad and other unknown hands of influential leaders.
