BELAGAVI: In a shocking incident, a 45-year-old man hacked his daughter and her alleged lover to death with an axe in Savadaati taluk in Belagavi district of Karnataka, on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Rukamavva (16) and Manjunath Padeshwar (21), both residents of Bedasur village.
According to police sources, Padeshwar had gone to the residence of Rukmavva in the late hours while her father Yallappa Adin was asleep.
While the two were talking to each other, Adin woke up and enraged at the sight of his daughter talking to a boy at such late hours, pulled out an axe kept near his bed and hacked the duo to death.
Following the incident, Adin surrendered to the police at Savadatti police station.
A case has been registered.
