BENGALURU: Senior Karnataka Administrative Services (KAS) officer K Mathai, protesting harassment by seniors in the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms - E Governance, cycled his way to office on Wednesday morning.

He also alleged that there has been a conspiracy to close Karnataka Sakala Services Act passed in 2011 to provide guarantee of services to citizens in Karnataka with a deadline for citizen-related services. Sakala enables government offices to provide services with a deadline.

An assistant Commissioner and Administrative Officer of Sakala Mission, K Mathai came from his residence near Rajanakunte off Doddaballapura Road which is more than 25 kms away. He left home at around 8.15 am and reached his office in M S Building near Vidhana Soudha at 10 am.

K Mathai told the New Indian Express that he came to office by cycle after the non-payment of his official vehicle bill for 11 months.

"This has been done purposely to harass me. The agency has cancelled the vehicle as the bill was not paid. So this is the only Saathvik option left for me to protest," said K Mathai.

Mathai had also sent a detailed report to chief secretary S C Khuntia where he highlighted the conspiracy by some senior IAS officers to shut Sakala mission.
