Finally, Bengaluru and Mysuru universities to get full-time Vice Chancellors

On Friday evening, the files reached Raj Bhavan from the chief minister’s office to appoint VCs for both universities almost after six months.

BENGALURU: After almost six months, both Bengaluru and Mysuru universities are likely to get regular Vice-Chancellors.On Friday evening, the files reached Raj Bhavan from the chief minister’s office. According to sources from Raj Bhavan, Governor Vajubhai Vala is expected to issue orders appointing new V-Cs for both the universities by Saturday evening.

Officials from the Chief Minister’s Office said for Bangalore University, of the names recommended by the search committee, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah gave his consent to Prof Sangamesh Patil, who is a professor at Karnataka University, Dharwad. For University of Mysore, the CM recommended Prof Siddashrama’s name, who is a Kannada professor at the varsity.
