KALABURAGI: BJP State unit president B S Yeddyurappa on Thursday said that the elections to the State Assembly would be advanced to December this year.

Speaking at a press conference here, Yeddyurappa said that as per his information, Congress wanted to advance polls to December instead of April-May next year. BJP is ready to face the polls any time, he said.

The former Chief Minister alleged that development activities have stopped and law and order situation have collapsed in the State. The murder of BJP leader Harish in Anekal on Wednesday and murders of two other party activists in the last 6 months indicate the deteriorating law and order situation in the State, he said.

The BJP President demanded the government to waive farm loans of the farmers taken in cooperative societies within June 30. If the government fails to do so, over five lakh farmers would stage dharna in Bengaluru on July 15 and 16, Yeddyurappa warned.
