BENGALURU: A minor was among three persons arrested for allegedly robbing people by threatening them with a toy pistol. The accused used to target people working in night shifts and wait for passersby on isolated roads during early hours.

They operated between 4- 5:30 am and also targeted morning walkers. The panicked victims, according to police, would generally surrender their belongings fearing a real gun. The gang would then immediately flee on bikes.

The arrested have been identified as Prashanth (20), Mahadevswamy (22), both residents of Rajagopalnagar, and a juvenile.

Following the arrest, police said that they were involved in 16 cases but suspect that there are more victims. Some spots hit by the threesome are Rajgopalnagar, Mahalakshmi Layout, Nandini Layout, Peenya and Subramanyanagar police station limits.

Police also seized 115 gram of gold ornaments, 28 high end smart phones, 10 two-wheelers, one three-wheeler, daggers, one toy pistol and an air gun from the accused.
