HUBBALLI: Pakistani hackers attacked the website of Anjuman-e-Islam’s Polytechnic College on Wednesday night.

The hacking came to light when a  student of the college visited a cyber cafe near Kannur Hospital to know his diploma results.

Claiming to be a group called Pak Cyber Skullz, the hackers defaced the website, posted objectionable content on it and left behind a message reading: “Go Modi Go’ hacked by SH11 team Pak Cyber Skullz’.

The message asked, “Do you know why got hacked?” and stated, “Free Kashmir, freedom is our goal.”

It added, “Indian Penal Code Act no. 45 of 1860) chapter -II sec 8: India means the territory of India excluding the state of Jammu and Kashmir. This institutionalised impunity with which the killings of civilians by military and police forces in Jammu & Kashmir continues should be a source of shame for India which propagates to be a democracy!”

According to Mohammad Akbar, the developer who maintains the website, the attacked happened on Wednesday night.

He added that the college authorities have registered a case with the Cyber Crime police. The website was restored by  Thursday afternoon, he said.

Principal H Shaik Ahmed said, “We have requested the police to investigate the matter in depth.” Old Hubballi police visited the college and took a first-hand information from the college staff. They asked the authority to register case with Cyber Crime Police in Dharwad.
