TUMAKURU: In a video that went viral on social media, a Tumakuru rural MLA B Suresh Gowda was seen assaulting a toll gate manager after he failed to arrange a VIP lane for Gowda’s car. The irate MLA barged into the toll gate office and hurled abuses at the manager, Mallikarjun, which was captured by CCTV.
Sources said that the staff at the gate also behaved rudely with the MLA and his supporters, which resulted in the tussle.
As the video went viral and was telecast on private TV channels on Tuesday, tollgate authorities lodged a complaint against the Suresh Gowda. Kyathsandra police also filed an FIR on several charges, including rioting, against the two-term MLA.
Speaking to media the Suresh Gowda rubbished the allegations. "I did not attack anybody. I had just questioned the manager for not maintaining the VIP lane", he clarified.
