MANGALURU: A fire said to have been caused by a short circuit in the wee hours of Tuesday at a plastic manufacturing unit at Ganjimutt near Bajpe here, causing damages estimated around Rs 20 crore.
Sources in Bajpe police station said that the fire at 'Moha Packaging Company', owned by a Mohammed Haneef and two others broke out at around 5 am.
Fire personnel rushed to the spot and attempted to extinguish the fire, but machinery, finished plastic products and export-oriented plastic bulk products were gutted. A case is yet to be registered.
