Infant among three dead after car hits two-wheelers in Karnataka

KALABURAGI: In a tragic accident, a father and his two year-old-son were among three people killed after being hit by a car, injuring three others near Bhutpur Kalyanmantap of Jewargi town on Monday afternoon.

The deceased are Hamid (25) and his infant son, natives of Nelogi village and Yallappaare of Malla (B) village of Jewargi taluk.

Police said that the car with a couple that got married on Sunday was on its way to Gollaleshwara temple for a darshana. As the car neared Bhutpur Kalyan Mantap, it dashed both the two-wheelers.

Hamid and the infant were on one vehicle while Yallappa was on the other, and all three died on the spot.

The passengers in the car, including the driver sustained injuries and were admitted in Jewargi hospital. No arrest has been made so far, police said.
