BENGALURU: JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda has authorised party state president H D Kumaraswamy to take a call on the plans to field his wife Anita Kumaraswamy from Chennapatna constituency in the 2018 Assembly election.
Gowda, who reiterated his stand that only two members from his family - Kumaraswamy and H D Revanna - would contest in the 2018 Assembly election, refused to comment on the reports of Anita entering the fray from Chennapatna. “The final decision has not yet been taken on the proposal to field Anita from Chennapatna. Kumaraswamy will take the final call on this,” Deve Gowda told reporters on the sidelines of a function here on Sunday.
Replying to a question on his grandson Prajwal Revanna’s political ambition to contest in the 2018 polls, Deve Gowda said, “A clear stand will be taken on this in the coming days.”
Revanna’s son Prajwal has been active in organising the party in Hassan for the past six years and announced his desire to take the poll plunge.
