Priyank, Pratap Simha turn ‘troll haiklu’, spar on twitter

The bypoll results in Nanjangud and Gundlupet led to a bitter Twitter war between Congress Minister Priyank Kharge and BJP MP Pratap Simha.

BENGALURU: The bypoll results in Nanjangud and Gundlupet led to a bitter Twitter war between Congress Minister Priyank Kharge and BJP MP Pratap Simha.

It all started when Kharge, who was congratulating the Congress workers for the bypoll victory, tweeted that he hoped the results of the state would be “a lesson of humility for certain Paper Simhas who believe in rhetoric than actual work”.

Not to be outdone, Simha, who is a BJP Member of Parliament for Mysuru-Kodagu region, retorted that Kharge had suffered defeat when he stood for the Assembly elections and “when you contested after your famous dad vacated dat seat and for the post of Youth Congress president” (sic).

The tweets quickly became acrimonious with Simha taking a dig at Kharge for winning from a ‘reserved’ seat. The fact that others jumped on to the bandwagon and were trolling Kharge did not help. The barbs continued even on Saturday evening with the aid of willing supporters on both sides.
