KALABURAGI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit president B S Yeddyurappa on Wednesday said the party will pressurise the Union government to make public the contents of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) treasurer and MLC K Govindaraj’s diary which was seized during an Income Tax (I-T) raid and contains details of money exchanges by leaders of Karnataka Congress, including kickbacks received by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Speaking at a press conference here, Yeddyurappa alleged that the diary contained information about the leaders of Karnataka Congress giving Rs 1000 crore to the Congress High Command. Yeddyurrappa also alleged that the diary contains details of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah receiving Rs 65 crore kickback for the steel bridge project. The BJP would be writing to the Union government to make public the contents of the dairy for public interest.

Yeddyurappa said that if Siddaramaiah pledges that the I-T department has not seized a diary during the raid on K Govindaraj’s house, he will retire from politics. He welcomed the move of the Congress party in launching the ‘Satyamev Jayate’ movement on Thursday at Bengaluru.

B S Yeddyurappa also said the Congress has now realized that the truth would ultimately prevail, and added that Siddaramaiah must reveal whether the I-T department has seized the dairy from K Govindaraj’s house and if so must divulge its contents, before launching Satyamev Jayate.
