MCI bars 3 medical colleges from admitting students for two years

The Medical Council of India has issued an advisory for medical seat aspirants through  NEET asking them not to get admission into 69 colleges across the nation.

BENGALURU: The Medical Council of India (MCI) has issued an advisory for medical seat aspirants through National Eligibility cum Entrance Test ( NEET) asking them not to get admission into 69 colleges across the nation. MCI said the colleges are ineligible to admit students due to various reasons. Three such colleges are in Karnataka.

As per the list released by MCI, three colleges from Karnataka have not been permitted to admit students for the next two years. While three other colleges have not been given enhancement of seats and they are permitted to admit only the number of seats which they were allowed to last year.

Dr Sachidanand, Director Medical Education Department stated that there is nothing to worry as these seats have not been included in the seat matrix provided to the Karnataka Examinations authority (KEA) for seat allotment.

Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Mangaluru
Akash Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Devanahalli  
Sambharam Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Kolar.

Colleges whose seats were not enhanced (current No. of seats)

130 Sri Siddartha Medical College, Tumakuru

100 Al-Ameen Medical College and Hospital, Vijayapura

120 KIMS,  Bengaluru
