BENGALURU: Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Council KS Eshwarappa alone has not drawn flak in the ongoing feud within the BJP.

In his report submitted to party national president Amit Shah in New Delhi on Monday, BJP national general secretary in-charge of party affairs in Karnataka, Muralidhar Rao, has also taken party state president BS Yeddyurappa and his close confidante Shobha Karandlaje to task.

Rao, who was in Bengaluru to take the opinion of party legislators in view of the growing fight between Yeddyurappa and Eshwarappa, has in his report expressed serious dismay at Eshwarappa taking BJP’s internal differences to the streets by organising ‘Save BJP’ convention and his diatribe against the party leaders.

But Rao has also presented the details of the complaints being heard from the Eshwarappa camp against Yeddyurappa’s style of functioning. Karandlaje, party MP and close confidante of Yeddyurappa, too figures prominently in the report. Yeddyurappa has been accused of depending too heavily on Karandlaje in discharging his duty as the state president.

Rebels have accused Yeddyurappa of allowing Karandlaje to function as de facto state party chief and not involving other leaders in the decision-making process, the report is said to have mentioned.

But Eshwarappa’s defiant line too has been criticised. Rao has conveyed the overwhelming view of the party state leaders to take strong action against Eshwarappa.

The report also mentions the questions raised by dissidents, as to why Yeddyurappa has not convened a single meeting of the co-ordination committee formed by Shah two months ago to resolve differences with the dissidents or why he has not convened meetings of the state party core committee frequently to discuss party affairs.

Rao reportedly requested Shah to put an end to the internal feud within a week. Shah is likely to hold a meeting with Yeddyurappa and Eshwarappa in the next few days to resolve the issue amicably and opt for a harsh solution only if the two leaders fail to fall in line.
