BENGALURU: The State government has nominated four persons to the Karnataka State Public Service Commission (KPSC).

The appointed members are a confidant of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and superintendent of the KC General Hospital Dr Ravikumar, IAS officer Shadakshari Swamy who is currently serving as the Commissioner of the Muzrai department, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) Environment Officer Lakshminarayan and Srikanth Rao, an advocate. Governor Vaju Bhai Vala has cleared the names for appointment.

Observers pointed out that the appointments reaffirm the Siddaramaiah government’s commitment to AHINDA (Kannada acronym for minorities, backward classes and Dalits). While Dr Ravikumar, an aide of the Chief Minister belongs to the Madiwala community, Shadakshari Swamy is a Lingayat, Lakshminarayan belongs to Savita Samaj and Srikanth Rao is from the Uppar caste.
