BENGALURU: Journalist Gauri Lankesh’s brother Indrajit Lankesh said that he would abide by the decision of his mother, who has appealed to the State Government to continue the probe through Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Speaking to The New Indian Express, he said that he would not go against his mother’s wishes by demanding for a CBI probe. “She told me that since the SIT is doing its job, we should co-operate with them. I felt she is right. Ultimately what we want is justice to Gauri,” he said. When questioned whether he was interrogated by the SIT, he said the team had come home to get our statement on Wednesday.

“The officials took statement from me, Kavitha and my mother. They asked us about our relationship with Gauri and other aspects which is normal after an FIR,” he informed. “They wanted a bit of history and we shared with them all the details,” he added.Expressing his unhappiness over a few electronic media reports, which stated that he broke down during the interrogation, he said nothing of that sort happened.
“Even I am a journalist. I am also eager to know about the culprit behind this heinous crime. We were at loggerheads over ideology, but that was 14 years ago. Things changed after that,” he said.
