BENGALURU: The Karnataka High Court on Friday stayed the investigation into former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s role in the denotification cases registered by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

Justice Aravind Kumar decreed an interim stay of the investigation after hearing petitions filed by Yeddyurappa, now the BJP state president, challenging two FIRs registered by ACB last August.

In the complaint, Dr Aiyappa, former vice-chancellor of a private university, alleged that Yeddyurappa, when he was chief minister, issued orders illegally for deletion of 257 acres of land acquired for the proposed Dr Shivaram Karanth Layout in Bengaluru.

The complainant also alleged that the orders were passed to gain crores of rupees and that it caused a massive loss to the state exchequer.
