BENGALURU: Kannada actor and activist Chethan has demanded an apology from Union Minister Ravishankar Prasad and BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa for calling Diddalli tribals as naxals. These tribals in Madikeri were told to leave their habitation in 2016. Since then, there is opposition from the tribals, few activists and others.
Chethan said, “In the chargesheet released by the BJP, they have alleged that Diddalli protest is a Congress-sponsored naxal protest. For them, dalits, tribals and other unorganised poor voices raised to protect their livelihood will be treated as traitors.”“BJP leaders should tender an apology or else we will protest across the state,’’ he added.
