BENGALURU: The BJP, in association with Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, launched a padayatra from Ramanagara to Bengaluru on Thursday demanding complete farm loan waiver. The padayatra was led by BJP Ramanagara district unit president M Rudresh.Apart from Ramanagara, hundreds of farmers from Haveri, Gadag and other districts started the march following a puja at Kengal Anjaneya Temple.

“Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has let down the farmers by imposing a slew of conditions to avail the waiver. The scheme will benefit only a small segment of farmers. Kumaraswamy, who had promised waiver of all farm loans, has betrayed farmers. He should fulfil his promise,” the protesters demanded.
Kumaraswamy has questioned the credibility of BJP leaders to protest against farm loan waiver. “Why didn’t the BJP leaders demand farm loan waiver from the Union government?” he asked.
