HUBBALLI: The pourakarmikas, who are on an indefinite agitation since Tuesday on the Central office premises of the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC), took to an extreme way of protest on Thursday. A few of them poured human waste on themselves to vent their ire at the city corporation. The workers are Prashant Manamutagi, Basavaraj Doddamani and Reshma Muddi. They were detained and whisked away from the spot by the police. They launched the protest demanding release of their wages pending since April and reinstatement of the civic worker of ward 33.
