BENGALURU: The revaluation results of second year pre-university course and Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations have revealed blunders in the evaluation work by several teachers. According to both Pre-university Education Department and Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB), thousands of students bagged more marks after revaluation. In SSLC, 2,119 answer scripts received anywhere between six and 20 marks and 2,451 PU II answer scripts received between 10 and 38 marks.
Considering the blunders on the part of the evaluators, the authorities of both PUE department and KSEEB have decided to initiate stringent action against such teachers. A KSEEB senior official said, “We can easily identify who evaluated which script. Based on that we will initiate action against the erring evaluators.”
KSEEB is planning to put these teachers in a black list for three years and they won’t be allowed to carry out evaluation work. PUE department, on the other hand, plans to increase the penalty amount. Currently, the penalty for erring evaluators is `2,000 and this is expected to be doubled.
KSEEB Director V Sumangala said, “We are thinking of blacklisting those teachers whose corrected scripts got more than six marks after revaluation.”
