Leopard rescued from well in Gubbi

A leopard which fell into a dilapidated well at Naranahalli in Gubbi taluk has been rescued after a successful operation which lasted for over five hours.

TUMAKURU:A leopard which fell into a dilapidated well at Naranahalli in Gubbi taluk has been rescued after a successful operation which lasted for over five hours.

The forest department staff led by Range Forest Officer Ramesh and wildlife enthusiasts led by Karthik  on Tuesday lifted the animal from a 25-foot deep well at a farm belonging to one Bettegowda.The Rapid Reaction Team from Hassan headed by veterinarian Murali tranquillised it. While hunting its prey during night, the big cat might have fallen into the well, sources said. The place at which the leopard was rescued is just 6 km from Rangaswami Gudda.
