Karnataka polls: Muniyappa wins from Devanahalli, daughter from KGF

KOLAR: It was a big victory for former Union minister KH Muniyappa as he and his daughter and sitting MLA Roopakala Sashidhar won from Devanahalli and KGF respectively. After winning Lok Sabha elections for seven consecutive times, Muniyappa lost for the first time in 2019.

Later, he started meeting people in Devanahalli. When he evinced interest to contest from Devanahalli, the party high command gave him the green signal and his name was announced in the first list.

Roopakala’s name was also announced in the same list. Muniyappa won by a narrow margin of 4,780 votes while his daughter created history by winning by a margin of 51,262. Speaking to media persons, Muniyappa thanked the party for giving him and his daughter the party’s tickets.
