Minor held for voyerism in Mangaluru's Kasturba Medical College

The matter came to light today when the cell phone began ringing and was recovered by the security personnel, they said.

MANGALURU: A 17-year-old boy was apprehended for placing a mobile phone in the women's restroom of a private medical college in Mangaluru. The incident occurred on Tuesday at Kasturba Medical college at Bavutagudda in the city.

According to Mangaluru North police, the minor boy had gained entry inside the college in the disguise of a patient and allegedly placed the mobile phone.

The matter came to light when security personnel of the college found the mobile phone ringing in the restroom when there was no one inside.

The phone was seized and a case was booked under section 354C of the Indian Penal Code. The accused was apprehended based on CCTV footage.

As per due procedure, the minor boy has been produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, said the police.
