BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday reiterated that he is prepared to face any investigation in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment case and will continue the legal fight. After getting the copy of the order by the Special Court for Elected Representatives, he would discuss the next course of action with the legal team, the CM told reporters.
A day after the Karnataka High Court dismissed his petition challenging the Governor’s approval for an investigation against Siddaramaiah in the MUDA case, a special court in Bengaluru directed Lokayukta Police in Mysuru to investigate the case and submit a report within three months.
“We are prepared to face any investigation. We are not scared of investigation and are prepared for the legal fight. I have said yesterday (Tuesday) and reiterating it today (Wednesday),” the CM said, while reacting to the special court order. It came as a second setback to the CM in as many days in the MUDA case.
He said the special court directed the Lokayutka Police to probe the case. “I am yet to get the copy of the order. I will react after going through the order copy,” the CM said when asked if they would file an appeal against the High Court and the special court orders.
Siddaramaiah said that the case has been referred to the Lokayukta Police in Mysuru as the complainant is from there, the case was filed there, and the MUDA is located there.
Desai commission to continue probe
CM Siddaramaiah said that the judicial commission headed by Justice PN Desai will continue with its probe into alleged irregularities in the allotment of sites by the MUDA. The State Government has constituted the commission.
NO QUESTION OF CM QUITTING: ZAMEER
Housing and Minorities Welfare Minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan categorically said there is no question of CM Siddaramaiah resigning. He said an order has been issued for a Lokayukta investigation. Let the probe begin, and the truth will come out. Siddaramaiah has no role in this matter, he said. An order for investigation has come from the Special Court for Elected Representatives, and they are ready for the investigation. “The high command is with Siddaramaiah. MLAs and ministers are standing by him. We have all told him not to resign. He will fight this legally, and no one will be able to dislodge him for the next five years. The MUDA case is entirely politically motivated,” he added.
