ALAPPUZHA: Many of the anthropogenic activities adversely affect marine biodiversity, and the globalwarming which brings about change in the temperature and wind pattern makes ocean difficult for animals to survive, said F G Benno Pereira, coordinator, Conservation Research Group, department of Aquaculture and Biochemistry, St Alberts College.

He was presenting a paper at the seminar on Marine Biodiversity organised by Seagift Exhibition, Alappuzha, in association with PG and Research Department of Zoology, SN College, Cherthala, at SN College Seminar Hall here on Monday.

The seminar was sponsored by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE).

RDC convener, SN College, K P Natarajan inaugurated the seminar.

Principal D Murali presided over the inaugural function. Head of the department of Zoology B Indira, reader, department of Marine Biology, CUSAT, S Bijoy Nandan, lecturer, department of Zoology, SN College, Sanuj C Breezevilla, and programme coordinator, Sea Gift Exhibition, A Firoz Ahammed spoke.
