KALLIASSERY:  Kalliassery , a strong CPM belt  in the district here, remained tense  on Tuesday  after a CPM worker and local leader of the DYFI,  K.Rjesh, 24, was stabbed  by an unidentified group of people.

The CPM alleged that  it was a group of BJP workers who stabbed Rajesh on Monday morning.  He was admitted to the AKG hospital here. His condition is yet to be declared out of danger. Rajesh, a milk vendor  employed by the local milk society, was engaged in distribution of milk when he was attacked.

 A series of clashes between the workers of  the CPM and RSS had  taken place in the region recently.  Violent political clashes were also reported from Azhikode and Pappinissery in the district.
