KU students question semester exam timings
ALAPPUZHA: The second-year MSc (zoology) students of Kerala University are up in arms against the casual attitude of the university in conducting their semester examinations.
According to the students, the first and second semester examinations of MSC zoology were concluded on December 6 last year. However, within two months, the university issued notification to conduct third semester examinations from February 14.
The results of the second semester examinations have not been published yet.
The university is trying to complete its examinations before the University Youth Festival which is scheduled to begin on February 24, the students said. “The university delayed and changed the date of the first and second semester examinations many a time.
The semester examinations can be conducted only after providing 120 working days for the students. However, after the first and second semester examinations, majority of the lecturers could not attend their class as they were busy with the valuation,” the students said.
“They frame examination schedule without applying their mind and taking into consideration the problems being faced by the students. Many tmes, the university is giving examination timetable just two days before the examinations,” the students alleged.
“The university should provide some mental relief to the students preparing for the examination. The notification should be issued one month before the examination,” they demanded.
