Hindustan Newsprint Limited (HNL), Velloor, a subsidiary of the Hindustan Paper Corporation (HPC), has commenced the production of writing and printing papers.

With this, HNL will be able to meet the market demand for writing and printing papers in the state.

HPC chairman and managing director M V Narasimha Rao, who is also the chairman of HNL, inaugurated the production at a function held at the HNL on Sunday.

The same machinery for the newsprint is used for the production of writing paper.

It is yet another milestone in the functioning of the HNL that has an overall production capacity of one lakh metric tonnes of newsprint in a year.
