‘VS’ statement his own opinion’

Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan’s questioning of the public acceptance of Pinarayi Vijayan and group’s continuous denial of the party’s involvement in the murder of T P Chandrasekharan would be the personal opinion of the former, CPM state secretariat member V V Dakshinamoorthy has said.

Talking to reporters at a press conference here on Sunday, Dakshinamoorthy said, “We don’t want to give a reply to Achuthanandan’s statement in public. His statement has been reported to party central committee and it would be discussed at various party forums. Achuthanandan has been making such kind of statements for long and we have not given any reply to those comments.” Agreeing that there are several party villages for the CPM in Kannur, Dakshinamoorthy said that there are no party courts in those regions. “Media are deliberately trying to portray CPM as a group of cruel people who indulge in violence and killings. Mediapersons should think who would be reaping the benefits if the CPM is weakened by giving false reports,” he said.
