Establishing the role of CPM state leadership in harbouring CPM Panur area committee member P K Kunj a n a n - than, the S p e c i a l Investigation Team probing T P Chandrasekharan murder made CPM state committee member and former SFI national president K K Ragesh an accused in the case on Thursday.
Ragesh reportedly provided hideout to Kunjananthan, the alleged mastermind behind the killing, while the latter was absconding.
This is for the first time that a CPM state committee leader is being named in the murder.
Earlier, CPM Panur area committee secretary Pavithran Master had been taken into custody for providing shelter to Kunjananthan.
