The Kerala High Court on Friday reserved its order on the bail plea of Riyas of Areekode, the eighth accused in the Kuniyil twin murder case.
The prosecution submitted that Kolakkadan Azad and his brother Kolakkadan Rahman, were stabbed by a gang at Kuniyil near Areekode in Malappuram district.
“Riyas is the brother-in-law of prime accused Mukhthar Rahman. Mukhthar had fled from the country with the aid of Riyas. Riyas has been levelled with the charge of harbouring the offender.
However, he is also involved in the murder conspiracy. If the petitioner is released on bail, it will adversely affect the investigation,” the prosecution maintained.
